"The 1918 flu pandemic (commonly referred to as the Spanish flu) was an influenza pandemic that spread to nearly every part of the world. It was caused by an unusually virulent and deadly influenza A virus strain of subtype H1N1. Historical and epidemiological data are inadequate to identify the geographic origin of the virus.

Most of its victims were healthy young adults, in contrast to most influenza outbreaks which predominantly affect juvenile, elderly, or otherwise weakened patients. The flu pandemic has also been implicated in the sudden outbreak of encephalitis lethargica in the 1920s.

The pandemic lasted from March 1918 to June 1920, spreading even to the Arctic and remote Pacific islands. It is estimated that anywhere from 50 to 100 million people were killed worldwide. An estimated 500 million people, one third of the world's population (approximately 1.6 billion at the time), became infected."

We hope in this modern world where there are so many advances in science and medical care we will not face so many deaths.

Pada awalnya Pn Suzzane dan Pn Aniss just wanted to introduce their G-LAT to the student in USM. Suddently, unexpected things happened when they got a lot of response and orders.

The sales went up 20 boxes for the first day and the sales are increase to 80% until today. Alhamdulillah, inilah yang dikatakan rezeki dan rahmat Allah.(May Allah SWT bless all of us too. Ameen...) Memang berbaloilah promosi di Usm ni, mereka juga berjaya memperolehi 4 pengedar dari Penang, 2 dari Perak dan 3 dari Kuala Lumpur.

THE NEW "MJ" (Michael Jackson)

Blue, Black and White, the theme colours we had chosen for the Birthday celebration last week. Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson were the good choices for our Birthday Party Themes. The colours gave the party a 'star-like' effect. We enhanced it by playing MJ famous song "Beat it"(the song of the day). Followed with a few songs from the American Superstar(MJ), made us feel how great he was.

RIP to our MJ.

AWASI KELUARGA ANDA!!! Situasi Semasa Pandemik (H1N1) 2009 Dan Tindakan Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia

Pada 11 Ogos 2009 sejumlah 270 kes baru influenza A(H1N1) termasuk 6 kes kematian dilaporkan. Kesemuanya adalah kes tempatan yang terdiri daripada warga negara Malaysia.

Jumlah terkumpul kes influenza A(H1N1) di Malaysia sehingga 11 Ogos 2009 adalah sebanyak 2,253 kes dengan jumlah kematian 38 orang.
